Viewy Terms of Use

Last updated 26 September 2026 · Direbark LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company

In short

Viewy is ours and we licence it to you to use. Anything you buy inside it is sold by Apple, and Apple handles the money and the refunds. What you add to it stays yours. Viewy is a player: it comes with no channels, films or playlists, and you are responsible for what you play with it. We keep Viewy working as best we can, but we cannot promise perfection, and there is a limit to what we can be liable for.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are an agreement between you and Direbark LLC, a limited liability company organised in New Mexico, United States ("Direbark", "we", "us"). They apply to Viewy for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and to direbark.com. By installing or using an app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Apple's own Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to apps obtained from the App Store. Where these terms and Apple's standard agreement disagree about something Apple's agreement governs, Apple's agreement wins for that point.

2. Your licence to use the apps

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use our apps on devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store rules. You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the apps, and you may not reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code except to the extent the law says you may do so regardless of this paragraph.

We keep all rights in the apps themselves, including the code, the artwork and the names. Nothing here transfers any of that to you.

3. Purchases

Viewy offers Viewy Pro as a monthly or yearly subscription. Pro unlocks features of the app — downloads, the Up Next queue, and unlimited collection imports and sharing. It does not include, and does not give you access to, any channels, films, series or other content; see section 5.

Subscriptions renew automatically. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. A monthly or yearly subscription then renews at the end of each period, at the price shown in the app, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends; the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before it. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple ID's subscription settings (on iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.

Purchases are made through Apple, not through us. Apple takes the payment, sets what you are charged in your country, and records the entitlement against your Apple ID. We never see your payment details. Prices shown in an app come from the App Store and may differ between countries and over time.

An active Viewy Pro subscription can be restored for free on the same Apple ID — the Pro screen has a Restore control for a device that has been wiped or replaced. If Family Sharing is enabled for the product, members of your family group may use it as Apple's rules provide.

Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue a refund for an App Store purchase ourselves, though if something is broken we would like to hear about it and will try to fix it.

4. What you add

Viewy lets you make things — collections, the names you give them, the provider details you enter. That content is yours. We claim no ownership of it and no licence to use it.

5. Viewy: a player, not a source of content

Viewy is a media player. It does not provide, host, sell, index, recommend or link to any channels, films, series, playlists or streams, and it comes with none. To watch anything, you add the server address and account of a provider you have chosen yourself. Buying Viewy Pro unlocks features of the app only; it does not include or give access to any content.

We are not affiliated with any provider. We do not check, endorse or vouch for any provider or for what it carries, and adding one to Viewy is not an endorsement by us.

What you promise. You confirm that you have the right to watch everything you play through Viewy, including anything you download to watch offline; that your provider is authorised to supply it to you; and that your use follows the law where you live and your provider's own terms. Do not use Viewy to watch, download or share content you have no right to.

The information Viewy shows. Titles, artwork and descriptions come from your provider. To organise them, Viewy also uses public facts about films and people — cast, directors, release years and genres — from Wikidata, which releases them into the public domain under CC0. Actor portraits come from Wikimedia Commons, each under its own licence; on iPhone and iPad, the app shows each portrait's photographer and licence. Viewy uses these facts only to organise what your provider already carries. The names of films, channels and companies appear only to identify what your provider carries, and do not suggest any connection with, or endorsement by, their owners.

6. Using the apps properly

Do not use our apps to break the law, to infringe somebody else's rights, or to interfere with the app or the devices of others. Do not attempt to bypass a purchase, tamper with the entitlement checks, or use the apps in a way that disrupts anyone else's use of them. Where an app plays content you supply — as Viewy does — section 5 applies.

7. Claims caused by your use

If someone brings a claim against Direbark because of content you played, downloaded or added through one of our apps, or because you broke these terms or the law while using one, you agree to cover the losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees, that we incur as a result. We will tell you about such a claim promptly, and we may choose to handle our own defence. Where the law where you live does not allow this, it applies only as far as that law allows.

8. Copyright and infringement reports

Viewy hosts no content, so we cannot remove anything from your provider or from anyone else's service; a complaint about what a provider streams belongs with that provider. If you believe something we publish ourselves — on direbark.com, in one of our apps, or in Viewy's demo — infringes your rights, write to hello@direbark.com with the subject "Copyright", and include:

We act promptly on complete reports.

9. Changes, updates and availability

We improve our apps over time, which means features can change and occasionally be removed. We may stop offering an app, or stop supporting an older version of iOS or tvOS. We do not promise any particular app will remain available forever. A purchase already made stays valid for as long as Apple provides the app to you and your device can run it.

We may change these terms. When we do we will update the date at the top of this page, and anything significant will be noted in the release notes of the affected app. Continuing to use an app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. No warranty

Our apps are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that an app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your requirements, and we make no promise about any provider or content you use with Viewy. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Direbark is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost opportunities, arising out of your use of our apps or of any content you access through them. Our total liability for any claim relating to an app is limited to the amount you paid for that app and its in-app purchases in the twelve months before the claim, or five United States dollars, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for our apps or their content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for them. If an app fails to conform to a warranty that cannot be disclaimed, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The courts of New Mexico have jurisdiction over any dispute, except that either of us may seek relief in any court with jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights. Nothing here removes any right you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
